AutoCAD Drafter/Designer

SNI Technology's client located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico is actively seeking to hire up to five (5) talented AutoCAD 2D/3D Drafters/Designers for Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior roles to start ASAP on a 4-5-month, contract-to-hire basis! Please note this position is intended to work primarily onsite (4+days/week onsite with 1 day/week remote) and will require travel to client sites approximately 20% of the time. Must have valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Summary
The Drafter will be experienced in preparing clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings. A solid understanding of energy industry related drafting techniques and engineering terminology is required. The Drafter shall have a drafting background and specialize in 2D & 3D AutoCAD and Civil 3D programs. They will also actively manage their time to maintain efficient, effective, and accurate production within their projects. Also, the Drafter will have strong communication skills and be able to accomplish the results of the project at hand.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Actively engage in professional development.

• Actively participate in QA/QC to ensure consistency within the department.
• Work with Project teams to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
• Clearly convey design philosophies, expectations, and timeline.
• Works with Project Drafting Lead to complete drafting assignments in a timely manner.
• Create and setup CAD files.
• Adhere to PSI standards when creating/modifying drawings.
• Self-check drawings and models prior to delivery to Project Drafting Lead.
• Generate project deliverables utilizing Adobe Acrobat.
• Work within the estimated time constraints given by Project Drafting Lead.
• Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities.
• Treat all company information and customer information confidentially.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

• 0-5 years of experience.
• Candidates with 6+ years of related experience are highly preferred. Prior experience in the oil & gas or energy industries is also preferred.
• Must have specialized in 2D & 3D AutoCAD and Civil 3D AutoCAD software.
• Any prior experience with piping design or experience working in CADWorx software is a big plus to have.
• High level of organizational skills is required.
• Advanced-level user of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Work Hours:

• Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and occasional nights and weekends.
• Overtime is occasionally required and expected, often on short notice.

Work Location

• 50% to 80% in office
• 20% up to 50% travel as needed

Compensation Range
The compensation for this position (Jr/Mid/Senior) is in the range of $24 to $43.26 per hour during the 4-5-month contract duration of the assignment with a starting annual salary range of $50K to $90K upon converting to permanent.
