Senior Software Engineer – Networking Senior software engineer to join the Axis Data Concentrator server team. This engineer will be responsible for the development of a robust, super high performing, scalable highly available and easily manageable server capable of running in multiple hardware and software platforms. Activities include prototyping, design, development, build, unit‑testing and documentation. Will need to interact closely with product management and marketing teams to define and shape the product. Job Requirements At least 6 years industry experience; 8 years preferred. Deep experience in developing and delivering to the market high performance networking software products. Experience with and thorough understanding of networking protocols from the IP layer up to application protocols like and Experience developing Web infrastructure software, specifically: proxies, web servers, firewalls. Experience with OS kernel level development of networking functionality desirable. Experience with open source software (FreeBSD, Linux) a plus. Expertise in C, C++ development on multiple operating systems (Unix, NT). Strong verbal and written communication skills, good team player. BS in Computer Science, MS preferred. Experience with and thorough understanding of portability issues in the areas of networking, file and disk I/O. Must have ported a reasonably complex server to multiple platforms. Experience with open source software (FreeBSD, Linux) a plus. Absolutely comfortable with development in C, C++ and multiple operating systems (Unix, NT).
