Field Service Mechanical Field Technician - Decatur, IL

This is a full-time, hourly position. Pay rate: $31.43 - $37.19/hour based on experience. Shift: 1st Shift Mon-Fri, plus opportunity for overtime.

Job Summary:

This role will be as a professional Millwright and/or Welder-Pipefitter, reporting to the Field Service Lead Person. Will include working at various ADM Decatur complex locations doing installation of capital projects and repair work as needed. Will need to maintain ADM's high standards for safety and quality for all colleagues while maintaining production and efficiency excellence. Successful candidates will be able to professionally communicate with all levels of ADM colleagues. They will have the ability to identify and solve problems and to do tasks needed to successfully finish projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside Field Service Lead Person and other Field Service team members guiding work flow and quality of work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with established safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Document completed work, equipment changes, and maintenance activities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Health, Safety & Environmental:

• Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices.
• Work with Mechanical or Location Health, Safety & Environmental on all questions or issues.
• Ensure the unsafe behaviors and conditions are corrected and reported immediately.

Technical Skills:

• Strong mechanical and welding/fitting background with general construction knowledge a plus.
• Ability to prioritize ongoing work task.
• Solid problem solving skills with the ability to know when to get help.
• Must have a strong commitment to safety.
• Must have confident and courteous manner.
• Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures.
• Must have good communications skills.
