Job Description
The Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in supporting the store manager to ensure smooth store operations in a general retail environment. Managing a medium-sized team of 6-20 employees, the assistant manager helps drive sales, maintain high customer service standards, and oversee day-to-day store functions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate a team of 6-20 employees to achieve store goals
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Control inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
- Prepare accurate sales reports and analyze store performance
- Train staff on sales techniques, store policies, and procedures
- Maintain effective visual merchandising standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately and securely
- Create and manage employee work schedules
- Implement loss prevention strategies to safeguard assets
