Corporate Affairs Director, Research

Corporate Affairs Director, Research Amgen is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to serving patients. In this role you will act as the key communication counselor for our Research organization, developing and executing strategic communications that highlight the breakthrough science and innovation occurring in Amgen Research. Responsibilities Develop and implement communication strategies and plans that effectively inform targeted audiences about research science and innovation. Execute approved plans and deliver measurable results. Develop and support executive engagement plans for the Research SVP and key VPs, including media training and presentation preparation. Partner with the media relations team to respond to media inquiries and proactively secure trade press coverage. Collaborate with product communications, therapeutic leads, and investor relations to align messaging and strategy. Manage and direct public relations agency partners to maximize communication impact. Work with Research leaders and HR on employee engagement and internal communications. Ensure consistent messaging to external audiences, including media and financial communities. Basic Qualifications Doctorate with ≥4 years of communications or public relations experience; Master’s with ≥7 years of communications or public relations experience; Bachelor’s with ≥9 years of communications or public relations experience. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism. Experience in-house or in a PR agency. Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare product public relations experience. Hands‑on scientific or research communications experience. Strong oral, presentation, writing, media relations, and negotiation skills. Strategic, creative thinker able to develop actionable programs. Ability to navigate a dynamic environment and manage staff and vendors. Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, self‑starter, dedication to excellence. Compensation and Benefits Annual salary range: $180,551.90 – $244,276.10 (US).
