It’s time to use your skills and passion to do work that matters!**Job Description****Peterson Cat has the immediate need for an Accounting Clerk at our San Leandro, CA location.****SUMMARY**The Accounting Clerk provides support to the Accounting Department primarily through journal entries, account reconciliations and filing. The Clerk will assist in supporting responsibilities spanning Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R) and General Ledger tasks. The Clerk assists accounting and operations personnel to help resolve financial questions and/or problems.**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned.* Assist in maintaining control of general and subsidiary ledgers including posting journal entries.* Support responsibilities spanning A/P, A/R, and general ledger tasks.* Provides assistance to accounting and operations personnel to help resolve financial questions and/or issues.* Participate in the preparation of month-end tasks such as journals and preparing management reports.* Responsible for general and subsidiary ledger maintenance, including G/L account and department set-up, recurring journals maintenance, etc.* Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned.* Participate in the annual physical inventory reconciliation process.* Prepare year-end audit work papers and assist auditors as assigned.* Provide support to others in the Accounting department, including tasks related to other Peterson subsidiaries.* Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.**QUALIFICATIONS**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, safely and in alignment with Peterson’s core values. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**Associate degree (A.A.) from a fully accredited two-year college in Accounting or other closely related field; and a minimum of six months to one year of directly related experience in Accounting, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**None required.The pay range for this position is: $28.85-$33.00 .
