Valet Attendant

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Valet Attendant to join our Guest Services Team through October. $13 Hourly + tips! Drive up to Luxury! As our Valet Attendant, you'll kickoff our guest arrival with personal assistance and warm greetings. Allemployees receive perks of $50 rooms at any of our properties, and discountrates at our spa, restaurant, and retail.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:
Act as a host or hostess to all arriving and departingguests. Acknowledges and greets each guest with enthusiasm and prescribedterminology immediately upon the guest's arrival and delivers service with a smile.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create excitement through guest interaction andconversation.
• Delivers five-star service by accuratelyescorting arriving guests to rooms, handle baggage transfers, and accommodate guest'sspecial requests.
• Perform same functions when guests depart
• Act as valet attendant as business needsdictate.
• Must be a team player with entire hotel staff.
• Must be courteous, friendly and able torepresent the hotel professionally to hotel guests.
• Must be knowledgeable of the various types ofrooms and amenities that are available at the hotel, as well as the activitiesand services available.
• Must be very familiar with the local attractionsin the surrounding areas to comfortably make recommendations and givedirections.
• Must be service-oriented and actively lookingfor ways to help people.
• Active listener: gives full attention to whatothers are saying and takes time to understand the points being made whileasking appropriate questions and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to write effectively is appropriate for the needs of teammates andguests.
• This is a rewarding and physically demandingjob. Candidates must be able to perform the required duties of a valetattendant (jogging, long periods of being on foot, extended periods of beingoutdoors in all types of weather, etc.)

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing,and over the phone, with Staff, Senior Management team members, and Ownership.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and problem-solvingskills.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to promote services ofthe hotel.
• Ability and willingness to adhere to all AverillHospitality policies and ensure departmental personnel compliance. Abilityand willingness to work with various office equipment and software systems.
• Must maintain a positive influence in the community andpositive relations with area vendors.
• Able to operate manual transmission.
• Good driving record (no more than 3 moving violations inthe last 3 years; no DUI, DWI, reckless driving, or suspended/revoked license.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

High School or High School equivalent is an asset

EXPERIENCE/ LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in hospitality industry as an asset.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.

NOTICE

Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to andincluding 50 lbs. may be required. The hospitality business functionsseven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is ahospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be alwaysprojected.

SCHEDULE / HOLIDAYS/ PTO:

This position requires regular, reliable, and punctualattendance. Valet is expected to usually keep a 5-day-a-week schedule butadjust as needed according to business needs; for example, a 6-day week may berequired during peak business periods. A work week of up to 50 hours perweek can be expected. However, it can be more or less, depending on businessneeds. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. Holidays andPTO are in accordance with the AH Exempt Employee policies as outlined in theEmployee Handbook.
