Position Overview

We are seeking a safety-minded, dependable, and physically active Local Class A CDL Driver for a dual Yard Hostler and Shuttle operation in the Phoenix area. This is a critical role where timing, precision, and a strong safety focus keep our plant running smoothly. You will be home daily, driving night shifts, and handling local shuttle runs alongside yard management.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Local Shuttle Work: Pick up trailers from the bakery and transport them to the Distribution Center (DC)—a short, efficient 7-mile run between locations.
Yard Hostling: Perform yard jockeying and asset management at both the bakery and the DC.
Cargo Security: Seal and secure all trailers before shuttling. This is a critical task; accuracy prevents operational delays and plant shutdowns.
Physical Unloading: Safely unload lift-gate trailers containing bread stacks and wheeled bread carts/trays at delivery or transit points.
Flexibility: Assist with local delivery runs if bakery shuttle operations are caught up for the shift.

Job Requirements

Experience: Must have at least 6 months of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience within the last 12 months.
License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Location: Must reside within 40 miles of Phoenix, AZ.
Physical Ability: Ability to perform physical work daily, including operating lift-gates and maneuvering wheeled bread carts/stacks.
Safety Record: Strong emphasis on safety, defensive driving, and punctual execution.
