SALARY: The salary range for this position is $52,593.71 to $86,166.03 for Schedule A, and $52,593.71 to $81,857.73 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Essex Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual with excellent written and oral communication skills who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. Under the general direction of the Human Resources Division Manager and the Assistant Human Resources Division Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem solving, communication, organizational, and administrative skills. The candidate must also have the ability to adapt to change and adjust multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment producing optimal outcomes. The selected individual must have knowledge of Human Resources practices, federal, state, and local government regulations and the ability to interpret Judiciary policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and bargaining unit agreements and communicate this information to management and staff.
REMOTE WORK : The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of Duties
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
- Participate in HR staff meetings.
- Conduct new employee orientation sessions
- Assist the division by facilitating the recruitment process through NeoGov for designated recruitment, including creating job postings, qualifying resumes and scheduling interviews.
- Ensures all recruitment tasks are monitored and performed timely and efficiently.
- Assist with benefits and leave related matters, including conducting benefit orientations, handling leave request meetings with employees; reviewing and making recommendations on FMLA/FLA, donated leave requests, and worker's compensation claims.
- Process disability paperwork and benefit pre-payments for employees on a leave absence. Authorizes FMLA and leave requests in eCATS and processes PMIS transactions for leaves. Process and monitor all employee relations matter.
- Schedule discipline hearings and prepare discovery information for management and the Hearing Officer.
- Process regular and supplemental payroll on a weekly basis, track employee timesheets in eCATS, generate timesheet reports in business objects, communicate with management, Judges, and staff who are not in compliance with deadlines; calculate and review the salary increase spreadsheets; and prepare and process all PMIS and JHRIS transactions.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations. Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
