This role performs administrative and clinical duties in a fast-paced clinic environment while reinforcing documentation standards, patient throughput, and regulatory compliance.ResponsibilitiesClinical Patient CareAssist patients by providing information, support, and professional customer serviceVerify patient identity, obtain medical histories, confirm visit purpose, allergies, medications, and vital signsPrepare patients for examinations and procedures, explain treatments, and ensure proper consents are completedAssist physicians with office procedures, injections, wound care, suture/staple removal, and post-operative follow-upAdminister medications as directed by the provider and within CMA scope of practiceTraining & Onboarding (Direct Hire Component)Support structured onboarding of newly hired medical assistantsReinforce clinic standards related to documentation, infection control, and workflow expectationsAssist leadership in validating competencies and ensuring adherence to clinic protocolsPromote accountability and teamwork within the medical assistant teamClinical Workflow & DocumentationDocument patient care, communications, injections, and education accurately in the EMR (TouchWorks)Complete charge tickets and ensure documentation supports appropriate coding and secure record maintenanceFacilitate diagnostic testing and prescription refill processes per provider direction and clinic protocolManage administrative tasks including reports, patient communications, and daily clinical workflowsRecognize and respond to patient emergencies according to facility policySafety, Compliance & EnvironmentMaintain sterile technique, follow universal precautions, and comply with OSHA and clinic safety policiesClean and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies; properly dispose of biohazard materials per protocolEnsure patient and staff safety, including safe transport and assistance with ambulationCharacteristicsDemonstrates professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skillsTactful, empathetic, and attentive to patient needsDemonstrates professional and effective communication in person and via phoneUses discretion, sound judgment, and maintains confidentialityEstablishes credibility with physicians, staff, and patientsOrganized, resourceful, able to multitask, and takes initiativeCommitted to quality improvement and operational consistencyCollaborates effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical teamMaintains a professional appearance and demeanorRequirementsQualificationsGraduation from an accredited Medical Assisting programCurrent Medical Assistant (CMA) credential in good standingCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMinimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferredKnowledge of infection control, sterile technique, and clinic-based health and safety precautionsAbility to use and apply medical terminology accuratelyDemonstrated understanding of clinical workflows and documentation standardsStrong communication skills with patients, providers, and staffPhysical RequirementsSitting: OccasionallyStanding: FrequentlyWalking: FrequentlyCarrying/Lifting: Occasionally (up to 35 pounds)Stooping/Kneeling: FrequentlyOther: N/A
