Athletic Trainer

Assistant Athletic Trainer – Full‑time (12‑month) position at Queens College, part of the Research Foundation of the City University of New York (RFCUNY). The position reports to the Director of Sports Medicine in the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Primary Location: Queens College. Bargaining Unit: No. Responsibilities Provide general healthcare assistance to approximately 230 intercollegiate student‑athletes, including injury evaluations, referrals, and rehabilitative treatments. Offer practice and game coverage for all intercollegiate teams, which may include travel, late nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather. Assist with summer camp coverage. Monitor and maintain the athletic training room. Other Duties Assist the Director of Sports Medicine with practice and game coverage for all intercollegiate teams. Track and document insurance. Schedule doctor visits. Recruit and schedule per‑diem staff and share injury and recovery plans with Head Coaches. Attend national and conference meetings as required. Assist in summer camp coverage. Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine. Physical Demands The individual must possess the mobility to run, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Candidates must be able to lift and/or move heavy items up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis with or without assistance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred). Board of Certification (BOC) certification. New York State licensure prior to the start of employment. Current Professional Rescuer CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Valid driver’s license. Working knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules and regulations. Effective communication skills with student‑athletes, coaches and staff. Proficiency with relevant computer software. Pay Range Minimum – Maximum: $80,000 per year.
