Job Title Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown Location Council Bluffs, IA Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts available: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM and 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Cyclic scheduling | Every other weekend required | One major and one minor holiday required Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced stepdown/PCU unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per physician orders and unit protocols Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips independently using unit monitoring equipment Manage and troubleshoot CPAP equipment as needed for assigned patients Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (1:10 ratio), and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient admissions and discharges Float to ICU when appropriate and when experience supports safe patient care Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing Current BLS certification Current ACLS certification Current NIHSS certification Demonstrated experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience in a stepdown, PCU, or intermediate care unit setting ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU environment Experience caring for cardiac and neurological patient populations Why Join Us Join a collaborative, team-oriented unit that values a positive attitude and patient-centered care in a dynamic clinical environment Gain valuable experience in a high-acuity stepdown setting with consistent support from charge nurses and patient care technicians on every shift Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 772951.
