Overview and Responsibilities We are seeking qualified Respiratory Therapists (RRT, CRT, RN) to educate, train and monitor patients using ventilators, PAP therapy, home oxygen and other respiratory equipment. You will assess patient needs, communicate findings to physicians and provide ongoing care. PRN positions (Per Diem/ Paid Per Set-Up). As an employee you will create your own schedule by accepting the number of set‑ups you would like to complete each week. You are paid per set‑up which ranges from $5.00–$100.00 per service. Maintains a complete listing of all current respiratory patients Provides initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients per Rotech policy Provides in‑home visits to patients per Rotech’s policy Conducts patient assessment per Rotech’s policy and the physician’s order (verbal assessment, physical assessment, diagnostics such as spirometry, oximetry, sleep studies) Provides patient education on equipment use, physician’s prescription, compliance, benefits of therapy, potential consequences and side effects Sets up all highly technical respiratory equipment—including invasive and noninvasive ventilators, infant monitors and other high‑tech devices defined by scope of service at the branch Monitors ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment (same list above) Maintains documentation of all services rendered per Rotech’s policies Assumes on‑call responsibilities for phone consultations during non‑business hours Adjusts ventilator settings according to patient assessment and Rotech policy Supports orientation and training of other personnel at direction of the Area Manager Performs other duties as required by state licensure law and by the Area Manager Employment is contingent on Background investigation (company‑wide) Drug screen (when applicable) Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable) Required Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED (required) Credentials as a respiratory therapist—Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred; other medical credentials may be acceptable per state law Must be licensed in the primary state of home office as required by state law and provide a copy of license to the location May be required to obtain license in neighboring states for service area (if applicable) Preferred Education and/or Experience Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care preferred Nursing or other paramedical training may be acceptable per state law Home respiratory care experience preferred Degree in respiratory therapy or related science preferred One year of related work experience preferred Skills and Competencies Perform simple mathematical calculations accurately Communicate effectively in English, both oral and written Interpret verbal, nonverbal, written, auditory, and visual communications Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Multi‑task with attention to detail Self‑motivation, organized, time‑management, deductive problem‑solving skills Work independently and as part of a team Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities Email transmission and communication Internet navigation and research Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, Excel Office equipment: fax machine, copier, printer, phone, computer, tablet Physical Demands Lift and carry office or patient equipment occasionally Require close vision on small print on computer or tablet and paperwork Contact with patients and equipment with possible exposure to contagious pathogens Occasional lifting and transporting patient equipment Require sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening Compliance with Rotech Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy: medical evaluation, annual recertification, and Shave requirement per OSHA guidelines Benefits Generous paid time off and paid holidays Overtime pay for non‑exempt positions (as applicable) Commission for Account Executives Bonus and incentive opportunities Fixed and variable car reimbursement for Area Managers and Account Executives Car, mileage, and telephone reimbursement (as applicable) Employee discount and recognition programs Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(k), HSA, FSA / Dependent Care FSA Medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage Life insurance, disability, accidental death, identity protection, legal services Meru Health, Mental Health, and Mercer SmartConnect Medicare programs Livongo Diabetes and High Blood Pressure programs HealthBluebook and RX Savings Solutions programs Hepatitis B (HEPB) and TB vaccinations Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
