Volunteer Program Overview Orientation is required to participate in this volunteer program, and before registering for the hikes. During orientation you will be required to complete and sign a Volunteer Services Agreement – Natural and Cultural Resources with the National Park Service, form OF301a and a Volunteer Service Agreement with the University of Washington, Dept of Biology. These waivers provide protections in law, including liability protection for the NPS and the volunteer and worker compensation if you are injured while performing your work as a volunteer. Orientation Online, June 4 – July 31 In-Person Half Day at Longmire, June 18 Data Collection Hikes (Choose 1) 2 in July 2 in August 2 in September Meeting Place and Time Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 1-3:30 pm in Longmire, Mount Rainier National Park.
