Janitorial Technician (1st Shift)

Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hour

Location: Chesapeake, VA

Schedule: First Shift | Full-Time

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitorial Technician to support a growing food production facility in Chesapeake, VA. During the facility startup phase, you will assist with equipment assembly, facility setup, and general warehouse projects. Once operations begin, your primary responsibility will be maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout production, warehouse, and office areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with janitorial, warehouse, construction, manufacturing, or general labor experience who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow with a rapidly expanding company.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout production, warehouse, and office areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, power wash, and perform routine floor maintenance.
• Clean equipment exteriors, walls, common areas, and workspaces.
• Operate floor scrubbers, power washers, and other cleaning equipment safely.
• Follow food-grade sanitation procedures and GMP requirements.
• Complete cleaning logs and sanitation documentation accurately.
• Assist with facility setup, including assembling shelving, furniture, and equipment during startup activities.
• Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Support general warehouse and facility maintenance tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety policies, sanitation procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
• Work independently and assist other departments as needed in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous janitorial, sanitation, warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or general labor experience preferred.
• Experience using hand and power tools is a plus.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and cleaning throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in industrial or warehouse environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Industrial or food production sanitation experience.
• Experience operating floor scrubbers, power washers, or similar equipment.
• Facility setup, assembly, or light maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of GMP or food safety practices.

This position works throughout a food production and warehouse facility. Employees may be exposed to wet, hot, cold, or noisy conditions and must wear required PPE. The role involves frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and other physical activities throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
