General Manager

About the Role:

As a CBRE General Manager, you will be responsible for leading all operational, financial, and client service activities across a portfolio of commercial properties. This role is also accountable for managing property and client portfolios, building and maintaining strong owner relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of property management strategies across assigned assets.

The General Manager will oversee and developa team of property management professionals, providing leadership, coaching,and direction to drive operational excellence, financial performance, tenantsatisfaction, and client retention. This job is part of the Property Managementfunction and is responsible for the strategic oversight and operation of aportfolio of properties on behalf of clients.

The role is onsite in Oak Brook, IL USA. Occasional local travel will be required throughout the month and quarter.

What You’ll Do:

• Respond to high profile tenant needs and issues.

• Act as primary contact with property owners, serving as owner representative to ensure that objectives are being met. Prepare and deliver timely, accurate and complete reports.

• Develop and control annual budgets for large operating and capital expenses. Forecast complex management plans and prepare monthly performance reports, explaining variances.

• Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

• Help create advanced programs that will assist the property with emergency recoveries.

• Prepare and approve all required legal notices. Recommend and coordinate legal action as necessary.

• Review tenant rent and common area maintenance recovery charges to ensure payment is on time.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant commercial real estate experience . In lieu of a degree, a combination of commercial real estate experience and education will be considered.

• Active IL state real estate license is required.

• Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.

• Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

• Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Equal Pay Disclaimer CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the General Manager is $110,000 annually and the maximum salary is $130,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
