Equity Research Analyst - Consumer & Retail

Job Summary Guggenheim Securities ("GS") is seeking a sell‑side Equity Research Analyst to join its Consumer & Retail Equity Research team. The analyst will track public and private retail & consumer companies and support senior analysts. The role requires strong writing, financial modeling and research skills. Essential Job Functions Analyze individual retail & consumer companies and market trends. Conduct primary research – financial analysis, due diligence on industry trends, company management, and strategies. Draft reports/notes on relevant investment themes, events, and breaking news. Build and maintain detailed financial models. Prepare written research reports summarizing analyses and estimates of expected current‑year business results. Support senior analysts with fundamental analysis and original research in the retail & consumer sector. Contribute to building valuation models. Update analyst marketing handout regularly. Organize calls for investors and investor events. Interact with the firm’s institutional sales force and investor clients. Respond to client and internal inquiries regarding research findings and directives. Preferred Qualifications Fluency in financial statement modeling. Comfortable with large data sets and reporting. Understanding of capital and stock markets, and a passion for investing. Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey investment messages to team members, salespeople, and traders. Outstanding analytical skills; ability to conduct deep primary research and draw conclusions. Strong interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment; self‑starter with a proven commitment to high quality work. Team oriented, with unquestionable honesty, integrity, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to clients. Ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines effectively. Basic Qualifications BA/BS degree. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Must obtain FINRA licenses within 6 months of hire: Securities Industry Essentials exam; Series 86, 87 and 63. Work Location New York office, at least 4 days per week.
