Role Description The Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) is a part / full-time, on-site role based at Grit City Wellness in Tacoma, WA. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing high-quality therapeutic massage sessions tailored to individual client needs, using modalities such as body massage and Shiatsu to support recovery, pain relief, and stress management. The LMT will conduct thorough client intake assessments, maintain accurate session notes, and collaborate with other wellness professionals to align services with overall fitness and recovery plans. Additional responsibilities include educating clients on self-care techniques, maintaining a clean and professional treatment environment, and supporting a welcoming atmosphere. The role may also involve participating in club events, contributing to service improvements, and adhering to all licensing and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong client-facing skills, including Customer Service and clear communication to ensure a positive and professional experience.
• Proficiency in Therapeutic Massage techniques, with the ability to tailor sessions to recovery, pain management, and overall wellness goals.
• Ability to address Stress Management through massage, relaxation techniques, and client education on self-care practices.
• Active Washington State Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) credential and current professional liability insurance.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology, with the ability to work safely with a range of fitness levels and health conditions.
• Reliability in maintaining schedules, documentation, and professional standards in a busy studio environment.
• Comfort working in a fitness and recovery setting, with a collaborative attitude toward trainers and other wellness practitioners.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with massage and recovery best practices.
