Operating Room Coordinator/RN, FT40

Position Summary

Utilizes education and skills to provide a safe environment and quality care to all patients undergoing care in the Surgery Center as directed by the surgeons and physicians

Essential Functions

1. Supports the Surgery Center Clinical Manager in the operation of the surgery center, onboarding, hiring process, employee supervision and scheduling
2. Monitors performance/attendance and communicates with staff to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all supervised positions
3. Participates in employee relation matters which may result in corrective action or termination
4. Efficiently manages coordination of the Surgical Suite including Operating Rooms and Sterile Processing Departments (i.e. staffing, supply management, instrumentation, reviews, etc.)
5. Acts as a resource person to all levels of staffing for accomplishing care of patients
6. Assesses staff needs according to workload and staff competency; re-assigns and adjusts staffing based on patient care needs
7. Gives assistance and direction to staff in order to facilitate quality care and efficient patient flow
8. Assists with QI, infection control, and regulatory programs as requested by quality and management teams
9. Regular and predictable attendance
10. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
11. Performs other duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities

Education: Completion of an accredited post-secondary training program in nursing required.

Experience: 3 years of experience in operating room nursing required. Supervisory experience required.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required.

Certifications & Licenses: Current Tennessee RN license or current RN license from a Multi-state licensure compact required. BLS and ACLS required and must be maintained. PALS preferred. If not presently certified, must be obtained within one year of hire.
