Data Entry ClerkThe Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently entering cargo data into a database for accurate record keeping. The perfect candidate will possess exceptional organizational, time management, and attention to detail in order to perform this job up to Martainer standards. The clerk is responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and safe work place environment.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Checks accuracy of manifests upon cargo arrival in accordance with Martainer standardsDetermines condition of cargo via careful inspection of merchandise and manifestsEnsures that data listed on the manifest is consistent with what is in the container, such as but not limited to, customer name, address, destination, and merchandiseMeasures, weighs, and takes pictures of cargo in order to accurately document status of cargo upon arrival and storagePossesses extraordinary attention to detail in order to receive and accurately document sensitive cargo, such as but not limited to, flammable and explosive materialsProperly documents damaged cargo by following company policies and proceduresPerforms inventory checks on cargo and equipment as needed or as directed by managementSorts and places materials or items on racks as per company organizational standardsMaintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; sweep, mop, dust, and organize warehouse as needed in order to maintain a clean and safe work environmentCommunicates professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers.Actively participates in safety or educational training as requiredFollows all safety standards & guidelines, including but not limited to, wearing of safety glasses, wearing of steel-toed/safety shoes, appropriate safety gloves as needed, and proper attirePerforms any other management requests or directives as requestedSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis position works in a warehouse setting, with minimal outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.Physical DemandsLifting up to 100 lbs. without assistance and up to 250 lbs. with job aids or co-worker assistanceCarrying up to 25 lbs. for a distance up to 200 feetPushing/Pulling up to 80 lbs. without assistance and up to 250 lbs. with job aids or co-worker assistanceSitting activities are encountered during 75% of the normal work dayStanding/walking activities may be encountered during the workday depending on workload needsStooping/Bending/Squatting activities are encountered on a frequent basisKneeling/Crouching/Crawling activities are encountered approximately 5% of an average work dayClimbing would comprise no more than 5% of an individual's timeReaching activities are conducted on a frequent and repetitive basis throughout the work dayAn individual may be required to perform twisting activities, dependent on the type of position he need to place himself in while performing his/her job dutiesPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full time position.
