The Kitchen & Corporate Dining Associate, reporting to the Chef Manager, is responsible for delivering an exceptional caf experience for our team members and guests through food preparation, customer service, and daily caf operations. As a visible and engaging member of the Corporate Dining team, this individual develops relationships with employees, learns their preferences, and helps create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere during breakfast, lunch, and caf service throughout the day.

This role supports all aspects of the corporate caf, including food preparation, service, catering support, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe environment. The Kitchen & Corporate Dining Associate plays a key role in both opening and closing operations and contributes to creating a hospitality-focused dining experience that reflects our company culture.

Part Time Hours: Monday-Wednesday 6:00am-2:30pm. Thursdays and Fridays off.

Responsibilities

Food Preparation

• Support the daily operations of the in-house caf, including food preparation, cooking, service, and customer interaction.
• Work across a variety of caf stations including breakfast, lunch, deli, salad bar, and la carte offerings.
• Prepare and serve high-quality food in accordance with established recipes, presentation standards, and food safety guidelines.
• Engage with team members and guests in a friendly, professional manner, providing personalized service and fostering a welcoming dining environment.
• Set up, stock, maintain, and break down food stations to ensure an exceptional dining experience throughout service.
• Prepare food to meet individual guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Properly measure ingredients and portion food to support quality, consistency, and cost control.
• Assist the Chef Manager with catering orders, event preparation, setup, service, and breakdown.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, stoves, induction burners, warmers, slicers, and knives.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary working environment that complies with the local and state Health Inspectors' reports.
• Perform regular cleaning duties including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
• Ensure food is prepared, dated, and stored properly and within safety and sanitary guidelines (i.e., temperature control).
• Assist with maintaining the caf preventative maintenance and scheduled/unscheduled repairs and maintenance.

Order Processing

• Accurately take and process customer orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle customer transactions and payments while providing exceptional service.
• Assist with inventory management, product rotation, and ordering supplies.
• Work closely with caf vendors and delivery partners to ensure products are received, stored, and maintained appropriately.

Physical Demands of the Role

• Continuously grasp/grip, push/pull, bend, twist/turn, carry, walk, stand, and reach above shoulder level throughout the shift.
• Frequently move equipment and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently work in a noisy environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and seldomly work in inclement weather.
• Occasionally climb and seldomly kneel and sit throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to work early morning shifts and remain on your feet throughout the workday in a fast-paced kitchen and caf environment
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move equipment, supplies, and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and cleaning chemicals
• High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary certification or formal culinary training preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary, caf, restaurant, or food service environment
• Current ServSafe certification, or the ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe
• Working knowledge of local and state food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, with experience maintaining compliance in a commercial kitchen setting
• Experience using restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Toast, Clover, or similar platforms preferred
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with team members, guests, vendors, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, make decisions independently, and adapt effectively in a dynamic environment
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service
• Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
