General Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the School Programs Director, the Educational Assistant provides instructional support to students in a classroom setting. Salary: Full salary range will be $22.76 - $27.69 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range. Assignment: This position will work 35 hours per week, 220 days a year. Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment. Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions: Provide academic assistance to enrolled students. Supervise groups and work independently with students as directed by the teacher. Establish behavior management strategies to create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning. Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops and seminars. Communicate with students, parents, staff and community partners. Facilitate student skill building in the areas of personal and social development. Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Other Functions: Maintain accurate data of student enrollment and SPED record management. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications: At least 18 years of age. High School Diploma. Must meet one of the following educational requirements: Associate's Degree (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date) OR 48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date); OR Passing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment; OR Passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree. Experience with at-risk youth. Experience with computer-based instruction. Experience in mental health, juvenile justice or alternative education.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions: Classroom setting. Regular attendance during scheduled work hours. Employment Requirements: Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
