Faculty Position in Breast Imaging

The Division of Breast Imaging in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, University of Miami Health System and Leonard Miller School of Medicine, is seeking a fellowship-trained candidate for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the clinical educator track. The successful applicant will join a faculty of 70 clinical radiologists who are involved in imaging at multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital (a primary, tertiary, and quaternary care County hospital) and from the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics. Core Job Functions:

• Active clinical practice in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Participation in the advancement and education of diagnostic radiology medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Provide clinical imaging services, mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and intervention.
• In addition to the rich clinical experience, faculty will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students, as well as clinical research, journal club, and weekly multidisciplinary conference.
• Supervise the performance of technical personnel.
• Be part of the on-call radiology schedule.
• Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of breast imaging.
• Provide breast imaging consultation as requested.
• Staff off-site outpatient imaging sites as requested by the Division Director or Chair.
• Assume administrative responsibilities related to the practice of breast imaging.
• Participate in teaching activities related to breast imaging as required in:
  • Diagnostic Radiology and integrated Diagnostic Radiology/Interventional Radiology Residency programs
  • Breast Imaging Fellowship Program
  • Medical student education program
  • Radiologic technologist educational programs
  • Continuing Medical Education programs
• Potential participation in the development and management of new and ongoing clinical research.
• Serve on Departmental and University committees as requested by the Chair.

• Medical Degree
• Diagnostic Radiology Residency
• Breast Imaging Fellowship

Certification and Licensing:

• American Board of Radiology (ABR) Certified or Board Eligible
• Florida Medical License or Eligible

Experience:

• Competitive applicants will have completed at least 1 year of dedicated subspecialty fellowship training in Breast Imaging. Prior experience in a university faculty setting preferred but not required.

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Taylor Breast Center are high volume clinical services, with state-of-the-art equipment, including digital breast tomosynthesis units across the system, contrast enhanced digital mammography, several US units, prone and upright stereotactic biopsy units, as well as numerous 1.5 and 3.0 T magnets with breast imaging and intervention capabilities.
