- Answer questions and provide clear information to patients and caregivers about compound ingredients, dosage, storage, use of medications, potential interactions, and other aspects of compounded therapies.
- Inform patients about the readiness of compounded medications, mailing policies and procedures, and billing and insurance processes.
- Receive oral, electronic, or written prescriptions, orders, and refill requests, verifying that all information is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
- Mix pharmaceutical preparations, accurately fill prescriptions for dispensing, and ensure all containers are labeled correctly and completely.

- Maintain proper storage conditions and security for medications, ingredients, and finished compounded products.
- Compound a variety of advanced preparations, including injections and infusions, irrigations for internal body cavities, ophthalmic dosage forms, aqueous preparations for pulmonary inhalation, baths and soaks for live organs and tissues, and implants.
- Follow established SOPs consistently, assist in the development and refinement of new SOPs, and perform accurate mathematical calculations for formulations and dosing.
- Communicate effectively with prescribers and other healthcare professionals, and relay appropriate information to designated staff to ensure proper compounding of medications.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of key compounding topics, including infusions, nutritional support, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), veterinary medicine, pain management, and mitochondrial disorders.
- Attend external professional meetings and represent the pharmacy professionally while engaging with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
- BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Current Indiana Pharmacist license in good standing.

- Experience maintaining patient profiles, prescription records, and insurance billing information with high accuracy.
- Solid understanding of clinical pharmacology as it relates to compounded medications.
- Strong customer service skills when interacting with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to follow and implement SOPs and regulatory requirements in a compounding pharmacy environment.
- Commitment to completing continuing education units (CEUs) required to maintain state licensure, including CEUs in compounding (required or preferred as specified by state guidelines).
- Experience working in a compounding pharmacy or specialized sterile compounding environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy certification programs and National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) standards.
- Knowledge of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), nutritional support, veterinary compounding, pain management, and mitochondrial disorder therapies.
