About the Company

The Logistics Coordinator manages the day-to-day movement of inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods, coordinating carriers, scheduling shipments. This role is the operational hinge between production output, inventory, and customer delivery commitments. Owning the execution that keeps freight moving, costs controlled, and on-time-delivery targets met.

This contract is 10 weeks long. It could extend longer. They are looking to get someone in ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch outbound shipments (LTL, FTL) against production and customer ship dates; book carriers and tender loads.
• Coordinate inbound deliveries of raw materials, components, and packaging with suppliers and receiving to support compounding, filling, and kitting schedules.
• Generate, verify, and process shipping documentation: BOLs, packing lists, ASNs, commercial invoices, and carrier paperwork.
• Track shipments in transit, proactively manage exceptions (delays, damage, shorts), and communicate status to customer service and internal stakeholders.
• Obtain freight quotes, compare carrier rates and service levels, and flag cost or capacity issues.
• Process and reconcile freight invoices against quoted/contracted rates; identify billing errors.
• Maintain logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, freight cost per unit/shipment, dock-to-stock, claims rate) and report on trends.
• Ensure shipping practices comply with carrier requirements and applicable transportation regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in logistics, shipping/receiving, transportation, or supply chain coordination, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Solid Excel skills and comfort with data entry accuracy.
• Familiarity with LTL/FTL carrier operations and freight documentation.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and communication across internal teams and external carriers/customers.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business.
• Microsoft Business Central experience.
• Experience in a regulated or quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Pay range and compensation package

Combination of office and warehouse/dock floor. Occasional lifting up to [25/50] lbs; standing and walking on the production/distribution floor. Standard shift; occasional flexibility around shipping deadlines.
