Overview of the Position Responsibilities: Our Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing telecommunication network and components. Be part of our innovation-building and delivering a fiber-rich internet connection to people's doorsteps.What You Will Do:Perform all tasks and responsibilities in a safe and efficient mannerTrouble-shoot and repair problems in HFC networks and or fiber networksTest, balance, align and adjust components, cables and equipment used to amplify and process signals in both directions (Downstream and return path) including system sweep.Perform maintenance, testing, and repair on HFC network power suppliesSplice and activate fiber optic cables, nodes, transmitters, and receiversAssist in training activitiesPerform emergency fiber restorationParticipate in on-call rotationIdentify and report all incidents of non-compliance (FCC, NESC, OSHA and Bluepeak standards)Assure system security by following company proceduresIdentify and report all incidents of noncompliance (FCC, NESC, OSHA and Bluepeak standards)Provide superior customer serviceComplete all tasks to Bluepeak quality standardsRepresent Bluepeak in a competent and professional manner to all customers, associates, and outside organizationsMaintain professional appearance and behavior at all timesResponsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment & tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenanceIdentify and repair all instances of signal leakage to ensure system conforms to F.C.C. Cumulative Leakage Index requirements and company standardsPerform plant serviceability surveysOther duties as assigned, which may include cross functional assignmentsAble to present technical information to a non-technical audienceAble to work independentlyAble to accurately measure distances using tapes and other measuring devicesAble to use assigned test equipment including but not limited to signal level meter (SLM), leakage detector, volt ohm meter, sweep receiver, underground locater, and TDRAble to prioritize and organize assignments and responsibilitiesAble to accurately maintain records, logs, reports, work orders, etc.Able to operate office equipment, fax, copier, etc.Able to handle escalations and time-critical issuesAble to read street maps and system design prints.Able to work flexible hours as required including evenings, weekends, and on-call shiftsWhat You Will Need:Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.Basic knowledge of electronics and working knowledge of the operation of an HFC network or fiber network are requiredTwo to four years of experience and related associates degree (or equivalent in training and experience) is preferredCompleted NCTI Master Technician, HFC Networks CertificationWord processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database softwareAbility to work while standing most of the timeAbility to walk or work over all types of terrain, in all types of weatherAbility to carry tools and equipment including, ladders, tool beltsAbility to work in tight spaces while bending, twisting, and reachingAbility to carry, climb and operate extension ladder (approx. 28' & 75lbs)Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wiresAbility to perform work in elevated places (i.e., roofs and utility poles)Ability to use drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and other hand toolsAbility to work with small componentsAbility to use close vision, peripheral vision and adjust focusAbility to work in poorly vented areas such as attics, in extreme temperaturesAbility to move, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, push, and graspAbility to lift up to 90 poundsPhysically able to work on a computer equipment and test equipmentAbility to work in environments that may have dust, dirt, noise, insects, and cleaning solutionsAbility to work safely near power lines and electrical equipmentAbility to drive Company vehicles in a safe mannerMust be able to meet the physical limit requirements of personal protective equipment, aerial lift equipment, ladders and/or gaffs that may be used in this positionMust have a valid driver's license and good driving recordWhy Work at Bluepeak?
