New York University: NYU - NY: Silver School of Social Work Location Open Date Jul 06, 2026 Description Position Title: Research Coordinator on a 5-year NIMH Funded longitudinal study Schedule: Full-Time Duration: 6-month initial appointment with renewal thereafter. Location: Los Angeles, CA (the position requires the individual to be based in Los Angeles) Project title: Social Networks Engage (SNEngage): A longitudinal examination of factors predicting thesocial networks and mental health services of individuals with serious mental illnesses Principal Investigators: Rohini Pahwa, PhD and Erin Kelly, PhD Key Responsibilities Coordinate a 5-year longitudinal research study Implement recruitment plans Screen participants for eligibility Obtain participant consent and schedule assessments Oversee participant compensation, reconcile petty cash and participant compensation logs Refine and implement tracking protocols to maintain high follow-up and retention rates Conduct assessments with participants as needed Perform other related activities as required This position is classified under the professional research staff category at NYU and does not qualify for visa sponsorship including STEM OPT extension. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment. Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in social work, public health, psychology, nursing, or other social/behavioral science disciplines Experience with research and participant tracking Excellent organizational skills Willing to travel within Los Angeles for project activities Must have a high level of attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work on a team, and punctuality Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills Bilingual in English and Spanish Familiarity with institutional review boards, HIPAA regulations, and clinical research standards. Priorexperience working with research protocols. Experience with working with adults with serious mental illnesses Experience with quantitative methods Experience with qualitative research methods Experience managing a team and/or supervising staff Application Instructions In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act,the salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000.
