Job SummaryDevelops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed | Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates | Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions | Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programsImpact of the RoleGeneral ProfileRequires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational processWorks within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelinesWorks with close supervisionPerforms manual tasks according to established proceduresEssential FunctionsPerforms standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results.Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams.Assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing.Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment.Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperiencePreferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree Discipline/Major: Engineering Degree or equivalent training and experience Knowledge, skills & abilities: Engineering Support. Test Execution. Industry Standards. Test Documentation. Test Equipment.Physical RequirementsRequires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.May need to stand for long periods of time.Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.May be requested to work a different shift.Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.This position is Safety-Sensitive.Travel RequirementsNo or very little travel likely.
