The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a temporary part‑time, as needed (PRN) dental hygienist for its affiliated Dental Faculty Practice (DFP), 8–40 hours per week. Job Title: Dental Hygienist 2 Department: Dentistry | Dental Faculty Practice Function: Allied Health Subfunction: Dental Hygienist Career Band: Individual Contributor - Clinical Career Level: C2 Salary Range: $35.24 – $44.04 per hour Location: Postle Hall (0024) Position Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Scheduled Hours: 20 per week Shift: First Shift Responsibilities Perform dental hygiene services in the Dental Faculty Practice. Take and develop dental x‑rays. Clean teeth, place sealants and fluorides. Teach patients proper brushing and flossing; take patient history. Educate patients on nutrition and oral health. Stock and set up operatories; manage patient records. Provide patient education. Qualifications Exhibit manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and ability to manipulate dental instruments. Use both hands, feet, and maintain posture on a dental stool. Distinguish colors, demonstrate motor coordination. Have visual acuity and communication skills. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods. Be willing to complete a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, vibrating equipment, sharp instruments, and latex.
