Associate Scientist, Biology

Gilead Sciences seeks an Associate Scientist in Biology to support drug discovery efforts across virology, oncology, and inflammation programs. The role involves designing and executing biochemical and cellular assays for small molecule and biologics candidates, collaborating with cross-functional research teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, validate, and execute biochemical and cell-based assays independently
- Generate experimental data, analyze results, and communicate findings to project teams
- Perform automation-enabled medium to high-throughput screening
- Collaborate across functional teams including medicinal chemistry and structural biology
- Maintain experimental records and prepare technical reports and presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related field plus 4+ years industry experience
- Master's degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related field plus 3+ years industry experience
- Experience with biochemical, cellular, and in vitro pharmacology assays (ELISA, TR-FRET, flow cytometry)
- Hands-on background in small molecule or biologics drug discovery
- High-throughput screening and automation platform experience
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environment
Compensation: $109,650–$141,900 base
