The Northwell Health Cancer Institute seeks a full-time, board-certified physician to oversee the clinical performance of and provide the overall strategic direction for the Northwell Health medical oncology and hematology program on Staten Island. We are seeking a dynamic leader in oncology care and translational and clinical research who will develop and grow our faculty, enhance patient care and lead innovative research initiatives. The new Director will report to deputy physician-in-chief of Medical Oncology. They will oversee the clinical, research, educational and administrative pursuits of the Hematology & Medical Oncology program on Staten Island, which includes a robust and growing team of Hematologic Oncologists and a clinical team of nurses, ACPs, research staff, practice staff and supportive care professionals dedicated to achieving excellence.

This position will serve as Director of Hematology and Medical Oncology for the Florina Cancer Center. The Florina Cancer Center at Staten Island University Hospital stands as one of the most comprehensive cancer programs in New York City, offering the full spectrum of adult and pediatric/AYA oncology services backed by the depth and resources of Northwell Health — New York State's largest health system. With more than 30 specialists spanning surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation therapy and beyond, the Florina Cancer Center manages even the most rare and complex malignancies, drawing referrals from across New York State. This program offers the clinical complexity, collaborative culture and institutional support to thrive. The Director of Hematology & Medical Oncology will have the critical role of program and faculty development, in order to inspire innovative, best-in-class approaches to cancer care delivery, therapeutic advancements and patient experience. Working closely across leadership at Staten Island University Hospital, the Metro Market and across the Cancer Institute, the Director will serve as the lead for programmatic initiatives across Hematology & Medical Oncology on Staten Island, will contribute to a strong, collaborative culture across the division, and will serve as a mentor to both junior faculty, fellows and other trainees. Finally, the Director will work across the division to develop a clinical and research program that prioritizes innovation, differentiation and patient-centered care.

Staten Island University Hospital is part of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, which treats more than 19,000 patients with cancer, giving patients access to the services of more than 400 Cancer Institute physicians in more than 25 sub-specialties.
