If you're passionate about patient care, thrive in a team-oriented environment, and want to make a real difference in the lives of our nation's heroes, we want to hear from you!Shift Information:Working hours: Mon-Fri, 8hr shift, 0730-1600 w/ possible rotating weekendsEssential Functions and Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities involve duties of drawing blood, following policies for positive patient identification for inpatients and outpatients as well as accession all incoming specimens.Manual dexterity, keen observational skills and sound judgment are required to correctly identify patients prior to venipuncture.Maintain congenial relationships with all VA staff.Participate in other areas as assigned by the Supervisor of Phlebotomy.Minimum RequirementsDegree: CertificateEducation: Graduate from an academic course of phlebotomy that includes didactic & hands-on phlebotomy (or required by state law). High school equivalent and completion of NAACLS or two-part Phlebotomy program.Certification: Certification/registration as determined by state requirements or a national certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a phlebotomist.Desired QualificationsPrior VA experience welcomed.Experience working in hospital or high-volume environments.Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.Physical DemandsSubject to a background/security investigationWillingness to comply with VA vaccination requirements.During duty days/hours at the VAMC, the contractor shall be fully committed to VA patients and under the direction/supervision of the Supervisor of Phlebotomy.Additional InformationShift Information:Working hours: Mon-Fri, 8hr shift, 0730-1600 w/ possible rotating weekendsCompany BenefitsPSI offers full-time, benefits eligible employees a competitive total compensation package that includes paid leave, and options for employer sponsored group medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, AD&D coverage, legal services, identity theft, and accident insurance.
