Cafeteria Aide

HOURS: NOTES: 175 Day contract / Summer, Nights and Weekends Off!/$11.45-$13.77 3.5 hours works 5 days over a two week period 10:30AM-2:00PM

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
• Has the ability to read and follow written directions
• Has the ability to stand and walk continuously for a period of at least two hours
• Has demonstrated the ability or potential to communicate and work effectively with students and staff

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: Supervise the cafeteria during lunchtime

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be familiar with and follow written policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
• Assist students in finding seats
• Monitor the conduct and manners of students
• Assist students in opening milk cartons, thermos, etc.
• Give permission to students needing to be excused to go to restroom
• Remind children, when necessary, to leave eating area clean and orderly
• See that tables and chairs are clean and ready for the next class
• Give students a warning for first minor inappropriate behavior
• Notify the principal when extreme misconduct occurs
• Report to the principal any concerns for improving the dining pleasure of all students
• Assist students in lining up when lunch period is over
• Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly (Grade 01) 2 per day 10 per week 175 days 9 months Board approved 6-9-94
