Job Description\n Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Fall River, Massachusetts.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n \n As a professional practitioner, the RN - Telemetry assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivery of patient care of telemetry patients. The RN – Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision. The RN - Telemetry exhibits critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, and consistently performs according to nursing standards while remaining accountable for providing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities: \n \n \n Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on telemetry unit\n Performs focused interview to identify specific patient needs\n Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition\n Monitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changes\n Records vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.\n Monitors patient progress and updates patient medical records as needed\n Responds to patients experiencing cardiac pain\n Performs various diagnostic tests\n Manages and administers medication\n Monitors and uses the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG\n Educates patients on cardiac health and communicates with patient’s family when applicable\n Administers tests, analyzes lab results, and reports them to the physician\n Documents the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions\n Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements\n Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard\n Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment\n Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions\n Documents patient’s response to nursing and other interventions\n Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established priorities\n Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment\n \n \n Minimum Requirements: \n \n \n Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices\n One year experience in Telemetry Preferred\n Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice\n Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable\n Current CPR if applicable\n TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable\n Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)\n Must meet all federal, state and local requirements\n Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site\n Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements \n Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required \n Computer proficiency required\n Must be at least 18 years of age\n \n \n Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: \n \n Competitive pay & weekly paychecks\n Health, dental, vision, and life insurance\n 401(k) savings plan\n Awards and recognition programs\n *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status. \n About Amergis Amergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
