IMC is currently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for IMC Behavioral Health, who is responsible for rendering safe nursing care to patients; supervising, directing, and monitoring the nursing care assigned to her/him; administering medications, performing venipuncture, assisting in the supervision and training of CNAs; and performs related duties, and using the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.Qualifications:Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.Current license as a LPN in the state of Louisiana.Must maintain CPR and EDGE certificationsKnowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.Demonstrates knowledge of LA Mental Health StatutesKnowledge of anatomyResponsibilities:Demonstrates respect for patients and families.Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient careApplies the nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actionsIdentifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates education needs according to the age of the patient.Participates in planning of patients discharge needs and readiness for discharge.Participates in departmental and hospital improvement planFunctions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical CenterMaintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational dataConsistently lives by the Iberia Medical Center Standards of PerformanceAdheres to the Patient Safety GoalsCompetitive Benefits:Great medical benefit planEarly access to earned wagesParticipation in robust state pension planDental, vision, life insurance, disability and more!
