Substation Superintendent We are seeking an experienced Substation Superintendent / Construction Manager to lead the field execution of high‑voltage greenfield substation projects ranging from 161kV through 345kV. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all on‑site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with utility specifications, NESC requirements, and company quality standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring project success through safety leadership, field execution excellence, workforce development, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Lead the field execution of high‑voltage greenfield substation projects. Oversee all on‑site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with utility specifications, NESC requirements, and company quality standards. Manage large‑scale utility, transmission, and substation construction projects. Lead self‑perform craft labor, subcontractors, and field supervisors. Maintain strong relationships with utility clients, engineers, and project stakeholders. Provide safety leadership and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards. Interpret one‑line diagrams, protection and control drawings, civil site drawings, structural drawings, and electrical installation documents. Manage multiple subcontractors and self‑perform crews. Essential Skills High voltage and substation construction expertise. Extensive experience in construction management. Subcontractor management skills. Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems, substation construction methodologies, and utility construction practices. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree, technical training, or construction management education preferred. 8+ years of electrical utility or substation construction experience. 5+ years in a supervisory role managing high‑voltage substation construction projects. Proven experience leading greenfield substation projects in the 161kV–345kV range. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project scheduling tools, and digital field documentation platforms. Work Environment The position is onsite at a greenfield site, specifically a data center. The role involves working in an environment where high‑voltage equipment and construction activities are prominent, requiring adherence to safety standards and regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Florence, MO. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
