Outside-Sales Residential Mortgage Banker

The Retail Mortgage Banker position is responsible for generating high quality residential mortgage loans that contribute to our customer service and financial goals, while also meeting all company guidelines and regulatory requirements. This position requires outside sales and business development in alignment with the company’s retail sales initiatives. This position requires the ability to handle numerous duties, often simultaneously, while maintaining a conscientious attention to detail and security and projecting a positive, friendly, professional demeanor. Responsibilities Interact with branch customers providing accurate, detailed and complex information about bank products and services. Generate and cultivate mortgage loans for the company. Interact with customers; identify customer’s needs, supplies information and direction; possess working knowledge of banking products and services. Actively participate in outside sales of company products to the local market. Formulate and maintain a marketing plan for business development with a focus on a current customer base, as well as new customers. The marketing plan is to include participation in various community outreach activities and networking groups that demonstrate a measurable impact on business development. Input mortgage loans using computer loan origination software by collecting appropriate information; collect credit information; prepare and provide appropriate disclosures to borrowers in compliance with RESPA, TIL, HMDA; provide company policies and procedures. Be knowledgeable with loan underwriting guidelines in order to successfully complete loan interviews, applications and collect documentation required to meet the company’s standards and those of company business partners/vendors/secondary market. Recommend loan solutions to meet customer needs and have an understanding of all regulatory requirements for processing real estate loan transactions. Application interviews may need to be conducted either inside or outside branch locations. Interdepartmental coordination with loan and retail partners to successfully achieve company goals and objectives. Maintain accurate and timely tracking records. Coordinate the loan application and underwriting processes with borrowers, real estate agents, building contractors, underwriters, escrow companies, etc., to achieve timely loan closing and demonstrating excellent customer service. Responsible for meeting production goals Training appropriate Team Members in mortgage process Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 5 years of mortgage loan experience demonstrating an excellent comprehension mortgage loan processing, underwriting, closing and compliance requirements. Posesses a network of past clients and referral sources that generate three closings a month. Working knowledge of mortgage related software applications (Calyx Point, Optimal Blue), various internet applications, MS Word and Excel, MS Outlook and Explorer) Proven skills in organizing, working with details and meeting deadlines.
