Job Description Anticipated: Duty-Free Teacher Assistant (Grades: K-6) – (RTP20260611-020) Responsibilities Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in the assigned area and relieve the teacher of various non‑instructional duties. Assist the teacher in managing student arrival and departure times. Perform supportive tasks for a certified teacher that are primarily non‑instructional in nature. Assist the teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities. Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher. Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up on learning activities. Assist in filing, organizing materials for distribution, and recording information. Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment or alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus‑based employees because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus‑based personnel. Qualifications Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: an associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or passing an academic assessment. Paraprofessional certificate required from the State Board of Certification. Proficient in basic communication techniques and language. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the general public. Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions. Must possess good writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and employees. Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
