Adjunct Faculty - Psychology

Position Title Adjunct Faculty – Psychology Agency & Division Northern Virginia Community College, Division NV280-Provost. Work Location & Schedule Multiple Locations. Work schedule varies according to class schedules. Salary & Employment Status Starting salary is commensurate based on assigned instructor level, education, and experience. Full time or part time: Part Time. Emergency/Essential Personnel: No. Telework Options Telework options are subject to change based on business needs. Responsibilities Teach specific classes in the designated discipline. Develop course syllabi and instructional materials. Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress. Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS. Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in psychology or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in psychology Must reside in the DMV metro area KSA's Ability to work with a diverse student population Excellent interpersonal skills Exellent analytical skills Excellent oral/written communication skills Ability to teach during the day, evening or weekend or combination of all Ability to use instructional technology Ability to teach social, developmental, and cross-cultural psychology courses Ability to teach online Additional Considerations Degrees in social or developmental psychology Graduate coursework in social or developmental related areas Prior experience teaching in higher education Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment. Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.
