Medical Director, Early Pipeline, Immunology, GPS

Medical director for early-stage immunology programs at AbbVie, responsible for independent leadership of product safety teams, safety surveillance, signal detection, and risk management for investigational drugs and biologics in clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Lead product safety teams independently for one or more early-stage assigned products
• Drive safety surveillance, signal detection, validation, and risk management strategy
• Integrate pharmacology, chemistry, clinical, and toxicology data for safety decisions
• Author and oversee key pharmacovigilance documents including safety assessments and risk management plans
• Lead analysis and interpretation of safety data for clinical trials and communicate findings to governance

Requirements

• MD or DO with minimum 2 years residency including patient management experience
• Ability to analyze preclinical, clinical, and epidemiological safety data
• Demonstrated experience authoring and critically reviewing technical documents
• Ability to formulate and defend medical safety assessments to cross-functional teams
• Pharmacovigilance experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
• Fluent English language skills, written and oral
• Collaborative, self-starting, and independent work capability
