Clinical Pharmacist, Acute Care Pharmacy, Internal Medicine

Job Summary The Internal Medicine Pharmacist provides patient-centered care to patients. This position must provide pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes; promote cost-effective drug therapy; assist in educating pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents; participate in research projects to improve outcomes; serve on Medical Center and Department committees; adhere to general hospital standards; assist with verification of medication orders and distribution; coordinate education of pharmacists and other health care professionals; initiate and/or participate in medication utilization evaluations; assist with developing and implementing treatment protocols; assist with medication access, patient education, and discharge follow-up phone calls. Position Highlights Clinical Pharmacist, Acute Care Pharmacy, Internal Medicine Primarily 1st shift, M-F with WE and HOL rotation Winston Campus How You'll Impact Patient Care Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses. Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization. Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes. Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork. Continuously update and document skills and knowledge. Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations. Set personal goals to support departmental objectives. Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines. Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork. What You Will Need Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required. Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required. Nice to Have (Not Required) Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency and PGY2 in Internal Medicine, Pharmacotherapy, Ambulatory Care or relevant clinical experience is preferred. Board Certification is preferred. Previous mentorship of pharmacy residents is preferred. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Possesses strong organizational and leadership skills. Takes self-initiative to innovate and collaborate with team members.
