Piping Designer

HGA is seeking a Piping Designer to support operations in McIntosh, AL . This Piping Designer will be responsible for supporting multiple small to mid-size capital projects for an industrial client. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, the ability to create piping designs from scratch, and experience working with redlines and field modifications. This is a hands-on role requiring field coordination, design accuracy, and the ability to manage several active projects concurrently.

• Design low- to medium-complexity piping systems from scratch
• Create new isometric drawings and P&IDs for construction projects and plant records
• Revise existing isometric drawings and P&IDs based on redlined markups
• Support construction teams by resolving field design conflicts and technical issues
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks
• Review and verify drawing packages submitted by external vendors for accuracy and compliance
• Maintain drawing quality and consistency within the plant drawing database and library

• 10+ years of experience in piping design for industrial facilities, with demonstrated experience performing similar work
• Ability to independently design low- to medium-complexity piping systems from concept through implementation
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; SmartPlant experience is a plus
• Experience creating accurate isometric drawings and P&IDs for construction and maintaining drawing records within a plant library
• Ability to edit existing isometric drawings and P&IDs using redlined markups in a drawing management database
• Experience reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of drawings submitted by external vendors
• Strong field coordination skills, including the ability to help resolve construction and design conflicts in the field
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering documentation
