QA Lead

Lead QA EngineerResponsible for driving the overall quality and test strategy of large technology implementations in an omnichannel environment, with one goal, to deliver the best customer experience available. As a key position within the retail IT team, the Lead QA Engineer works collaboratively with the various groups within IT and across business units. This role works under minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment to ensure the appropriate level of quality is designed into automated test scripts. The Lead QA plans work for their designated area(s), performs peer code reviews, evaluates tools, leads training, and performs hands-on automation. This person provides test automation expertise with continuous improvement within the automated testing discipline. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with a highly collaborative approach.Job Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesOversee critical initiatives on testing strategies and effectively communicating updates to management team.Participate in defining our Quality Assurance roadmap and strategy.Drive quality initiatives, test automation strategy and implementation, and testing efforts for large complex projects and programs.Assess quality risks of complex solutions/programs and builds appropriate test strategy to mitigate those risks.Collaborate with different lines of business and technical teams to provide input to and get buy in on the overall quality strategy for the project/program.Review third party contracts and statement of work and ensure that deliverables and quality criteria are clearly stated and met.Develop or oversee the development of test activities estimates, resource plans, and timelines for the program.Customize/establish Quality Assurance methodology and framework.Drive the Quality Assurance team through execution of the strategy to deliver the solution on schedule and meet customer quality expectations.Mentor new team members educates cross functional teams on Quality Assurance best practices.
