Senior Code Compliance OfficerThe City of Lancaster is seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and community-focused professional to serve as Senior Code Compliance Officer. This position performs a variety of code compliance inspections and investigations related to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The Senior Code Compliance Officer also serves in a lead role by supporting staff assignments, monitoring performance, and helping ensure high-quality service and enforcement throughout the community. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in the field, responding to citizen concerns, maintaining accurate records, and helping uphold community standards through fair, professional, and consistent code enforcement.May include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform a variety of code compliance inspections involving residential, commercial, and industrial propertiesInvestigate citizen complaints regarding potential code violationsServe as the lead staff person for commercial code enforcement, including enforcement of IPMC standards, abandoned signs, and general upkeep of commercial propertyInspect and survey public and private property for nuisances, sewage, trash, debris, and other unsanitary conditionsUse computer systems to access citizen information for notices, contracts, and citationsPrepare correspondence outlining code regulations, violations, and required corrective actionMaintain accurate records and reports related to inspections, surveillance activities, and enforcement effortsRespond to and resolve citizen inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely mannerTestify in court, as necessary, regarding code compliance violationsDocument daily activities and maintain complete and accurate case recordsBe available for emergency after-hours inspections as neededAssign code officers to designated districts and track performance by conducting quality checksSupport supervision and daily coordination of code compliance officersPerform other related duties as assignedEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or GED requiredSupervisory experience requiredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid Texas Class C driver's license requiredCertification as a registered Code Compliance Officer in the State of Texas required
