Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown – New York

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Upstate New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 48 hours per week; floating required as needed

Highlights:

• Specialized 64-bed Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit caring for adult patients
• Diverse case mix including stroke, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, pneumonia, and general medical-surgical conditions
• Experience with specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
• EPIC electronic medical record system
• 13-week travel assignment with opportunity for extension
• Local candidates considered (within 75 miles)

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license required (NURSYS verification for all active licenses)
• Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience with stroke stepdown experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (may be obtained prior to start date)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with current address
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application
