Immigration Legal Assistant

Position: Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) This is an in-office position. Remote work is not available. This position does not provide H-1B sponsorship. Responsibilities Answer firm-wide telephone calls and assist with client intake. Communicate with clients regarding case status and document requests. Prepare immigration forms, petitions, applications, and supporting documentation. Draft correspondence with clients and government agencies. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files. Track deadlines and assist with case management. Prepare filings for USCIS, the Department of State, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Court), and other government agencies. Meet with clients to collect information and assist in preparing their cases. Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned. Qualifications Fluent in spoken and written English. Strong preference for fluency in one or more of the following languages: Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) Spanish Portuguese Korean Experience with the U.S. immigration system, whether personal or professional, is preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and PDF software, with the ability to quickly learn new software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize competing tasks. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing outstanding client service. Base hourly wage: $24-$28 , depending on experience. Two weeks of paid vacation annually. Annual base wage increases of approximately 3-5% , depending on performance and the firm’s economic outlook.
