Job Summary The Registered Nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient’s hospital stay and coordinates planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer driven approach. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessment and reassessment of patients. Document findings accurately and completely. Develop, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care based on assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab results, and physician orders. Provide and document nursing interventions, including medication administration, IV fluids, and parenteral nutrition, according to policies and procedures. Collaborate with health team members and communicate patient care, including accurate handoff reports. Conduct patient and family education and discharge planning. Manage restraints and pain, and assess for abuse, applying appropriate protocols. Maintain infection control practices and report risk management concerns. Update documentation and plan of care based on patient response and clinical changes. Participate in performance improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives. Support and mentor new staff nurses and provide supervision when needed. Required Education and Certifications Licensed to work as an RN in the state of Missouri. Working Conditions May be exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases and unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, emergency and crisis situations, and irregular hours. Physical Requirements Occasional prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
