Opportunity Stantec's is currently seeking a Staff Level Geologist or Scientist to support our team of professionals on environmental site assessment and remediation with emphasis on retail petroleum storage facilities. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple task requests simultaneously, adhering to the approved scope, budget and schedule. Communicate daily with the project team and clients as needed. Oversee complex site assessment and remediation projects with multi‑person project teams. Perform pre‑field preparation for on‑site projects including development of health and safety documents, coordinating with subcontractors, and obtaining permits. Conduct approximately 50‑75% field work, including tailgate health and safety meetings, utility clearance, drilling, excavation, remediation, soil boring logs, groundwater monitoring, soil vapor well construction logs, and sample collection. Support environmental and related site assessment and remediation projects, providing field support, data management, interpretation, and technical assistance; complete Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments. Conduct quality assurance and quality control of fieldwork programs and reports/work product deliverables. Prepare technical reports such as Phase I and II ESAs, monitoring and remediation reports, site characterization reports, and corrective action plans. Assist in managing multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on deliverables. Assist with reviewing and tracking project‑related invoices from contractors, other consultants, and equipment vendors. Perform other related duties as assigned by Stantec multi‑discipline teams. Report to Senior Project Manager or Senior Technical Lead. Capabilities and Credentials Ability to work on site assessment, remediation and related environmental projects with knowledge and experience applying regulatory and safety requirements. Knowledge and experience completing Phase I and II ESAs in conformance with applicable ASTM standards. Experience implementing and managing site assessment and remediation fieldwork programs. Willingness and ability to travel – expected 50‑75% field to 25‑50% office ratio. Excellent internal and client communication skills to implement and coordinate fieldwork programs. Team player with experience supporting Project Managers and Support Staff. Excellent writing, strategic thinking, and people skills. Knowledge of local regulatory climate and proven experience in completion of site assessment and remediation projects with state and local regulatory oversight (prior experience with Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety regulations preferred). OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑Hour certification required, and OSHA 8‑hour Supervisor certification a plus. Good driving record and valid driver’s license. Pre‑employment physical required before employment. Education and Experience BS and/or MS in Geology, Science, or related discipline and 2‑4 years of relevant site investigation and remediation experience, including environmental consulting. Work Environment This position will be in a typical office environment using computers at a stationary desk for long periods. Ability to work from home up to 3‑5 days per week if authorized. Pay Range Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas: $59,000.00 - $82,500.00 Annually Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time compensation will be pro‑rated.
