Shipping and Receiving Associate

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

We are expanding our Operations Team with the addition of a Shipping and Receiving Associate . In this role you will report directly to Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to p rovide leadership in the tasks as outlined below. Compensation: $20-$24 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills Start Date: ASAP Location: Costa Mesa, California

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To continue our tradition of excellence, you will work with the Operations and Engine teams to perform the following duties: Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse Support Process inbound and outbound shipments, including sorting, logging, packing, labeling, delivering, and shipping products. Review each shipment before packing to confirm that the products match the sales order. Pack and label products according to established company standards. Prepare shipping and receiving documentation and maintain organized and accurate records. Participate in scheduling daily transportation and freight movements. Process receiving transactions and related paperwork. Inspect incoming freight for damage and follow up with the appropriate team members to resolve discrepancies or other issues. Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory and material levels. Help organize and maintain the shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas. Maintain company safety and housekeeping standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Mechanical and Engine Department Support Assist Engine Department with basic preparation of marine engine and generator packages. Assist with removing and installing transmissions and related components under the direction of experienced team members. Help inspect, organize, move, and prepare engines and generators for shipment. Support the shipment and receipt of marine engine and generator packages. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the engine and generator preparation areas. Provide support to the Shipping and Receiving and Engine departments based on daily operational needs.

MINIMUM REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications: One or more years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory, or a related role. Some hands-on mechanical experience , whether gained through employment, vocational education, military service, apprenticeships, or personal projects. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, verbally and in writing. Familiarity with shipping practices, packing procedures, and material-handling methods. Ability to inspect products and documentation carefully and accurately. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Experience working with ERP, inventory, shipping, or warehouse-management software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage changing priorities and workflow in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to quality, safety, teamwork, and high professional standards. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical warehouse duties for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver’s license. Forklift experience or the ability to obtain company-required forklift certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in the marine, automotive, diesel, equipment, or mechanical-services industry. Experience processing international shipments and working with customs documentation. Experience handling engines, generators, machinery, or other large equipment. Interest in marine engines, boats, equipment, or mechanical work.
