Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler to support our production, warehouse, and logistics operations. This role is responsible for material handling, inventory control, shipping and receiving activities, forklift operation, and maintaining an organized work environment to ensure efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Production Support

• Handle and move raw materials, finished goods, drums, bags, and other production materials safely and efficiently.
• Support production processing and remanufacturing activities as required.
• Pack, label, and identify materials according to production and customer requirements.
• Pull product samples as directed by quality and production procedures.
• Organize production areas to maintain product quality and packaging integrity.
• Read and follow written work instructions, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.

Forklift Operation

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials throughout the facility.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Follow all company safety procedures and Golden Plant Rules.

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Control

• Receive incoming materials and verify shipments for accuracy.
• Prepare outbound shipments in accordance with customer and transportation requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the company inventory management system.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Ensure materials are stored properly and inventory locations remain organized.

Housekeeping & Safety

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support warehouse and production housekeeping activities.
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Additional Responsibilities

• Complete production and inventory reporting accurately and on time.
• Assist with other warehouse, production, and logistics duties as assigned by management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Forklift certification and operating experience.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling environments.
• Experience with inventory control and inventory management systems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift or willingness to become certified through company training.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software systems.

Preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and warehouse/inventory software.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks through on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, move, and stack materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and climbing throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely handle bags, drums, pallets, and other containerized materials.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to forklifts, moving equipment, and industrial materials.
• Regular interaction with shipping, receiving, production, and warehouse operations.
• May require overtime, shift work, weekend work, or flexible scheduling based on business needs.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety policies.
